According to their website, Airbnb is an online community marketplace that connects people looking to rent their homes with people who are looking for accommodations. Airbnb users include hosts and travelers: hosts list and rent out their unused spaces, and travelers search for and book accommodations around the world.
Lyft, Uber’s biggest competitor, is another ride-sharing company that has emerged from the sharing economy. Similar to Uber, Lyft is a mobile application that connects consumers who need a ride with drivers who offer their personal cars as a ride-sharing service.
