Instacart is a sharing economy company that lets you shop from local grocery stores online. The app first begins when it sends a personal shopper to pick up and deliver your order to you on the same day. Unlike other grocery delivery services, this company doesn’t store fresh produce in a massive warehouse. And instead, it lets you shop at major grocery stores like Whole Foods, Shaw’s, and Costco through its website, and then sends your order to one of its part-time employees.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of Whole Foods! They’re organic food is so delicious! It’s great that this company offers so much options when it coms to grocery stores. Variety is major key to all similar businesses. Once the application pairs you up with a personal shopper, they go to the store, and pick up everything on your list, and then they drive it to you in their own car. The best way to think of it is the Uber or Lyft of groceries!
So how much does it cost? Not that much actually! Delivery is free for your first order. WOW! Can you believe that? After that, it starts at $3.99 for two hour deliveries and $5.99 for one hour delivery when you spend $35 or more. It’s really a great service for those who might not have that much free time. Great for busy college students like myself!
